3 National Statistics of coal mine blasting accidents

3.1 gas accidents caused by blasting

from 1981 to 2004, 7985 accidents with more than 3 deaths occurred in coal mines across the country, with a death toll of 52871, including 5120 gas accidents, accounting for 65.24% of the total number of accidents, and 37907 deaths caused by gas accidents, accounting for 71.7% of the total number of deaths

The gas explosion was caused by illegal blasting, accounting for 33.33%; So far in 2006, there have been four major gas explosion accidents, among which the gas explosion accidents in targou coal mine, where 11 people were killed, and Nanshan coal mine, where 34 people were killed, were caused by blasting, accounting for 50%
